Dr. Manoj Kumar Sinha Awarded Second Ph.D.

Dr. Manoj Kumar Sinha, Assistant Librarian , Assam University, Silchar has been awarded his second Ph.D. Degree in Library and Information Science from the Department of Library & Information Science, T.M. Bhagalpur University, Bhagalpur on his thesis "Importance of Information Technology in Library and Information Services: It's Prospects for future Development" under the Supervision of Dr. Saryugji Sahay, Ex-Director, Institute of Library & Information Science, T.M. Bhagalpur University, Bhagalpur.

Prior to this Dr. Sinha has also been awarded Ph.D. degree in Science(Zoology) in 1997 from the University Department of Zoology , T.M. Bhagalpur University, Bhagalpur under the supervision of Prof. J.S. Datta Munshi, Emeritus Scientist and former Prof. & Head, University Dept of Zoology, T.M. Bhagalpur University, Bhagalpur.

Assam University, Silchar , got New Vice-Chancellor

Recently New Vice-Chancellor Prof. Tapodhir Bhattacharjee has taken over the charge of the Hon'ble Vice-Chancellor of Assam University , Silchar from the Acting V.C. Prof. Gautom Biswas on March7, 2007. Prior to this he was Professor of Tagore Chair, University of Delhi, New Delhi. On behalf of myself and Assam University Library , we congratulate him on his new assignment. We hope in future , the university will develop and grow more under his dynamic leadership.

After his joining , he has visited Assam University Library on our invitation and he has adressed to us for the betterment of the university. We are delighted to have a V.C. from this place itself.
